One AI agent per matter folder. Turn a client folder into a folder that briefs your AI for you.
Every AI session starts ignorant: you spend the first ten minutes re-explaining the parties, where things stand, and what last time decided. Lexpert Agent adds a few plain-text files next to your own, so Claude, Codex, Cursor, or whichever AI you open there already knows the case.
A ZIP of plain markdown files. No account, no runtime, unlimited matters.
Think of it as well-organized sticky notes on a filing cabinet. The notes don't move, rename, or shred anything in the cabinet.
AGENTS.mdStanding instructions any AI reads on open: who the matter is, a guide to the folder, the working rules.
CLAUDE.mdA pointer to AGENTS.md, for tools that look for that filename.
MEMORY.mdThe readable summary: parties, key facts, deadlines, where things stand.
STATUS.mdThe session ledger. Newest entry on top, append-only.
_MANIFEST.mdA map of your existing folders: what each one holds and what to read first. Your folder names stay as they are.
Download and unzip the kit
Put it anywhere on your machine. There is nothing to install, nothing to build, and no account to create.
Open your AI tool in your matters folder
Claude Desktop or Cowork, Claude Code, Codex, or Cursor. In the Claude tools you never need a terminal.
Say: “Read SETUP.md and set up this matter”
It asks a handful of questions and reads your folder by name only, without opening your documents.
Review the preview
Before it writes anything, it shows you every file it will create and how it mapped your folders.
Approve
It writes only its own new files, then compares the folder before and after to show nothing of yours changed.
Start with one real, active matter. A week or two of working it tells you whether the AI opens it genuinely current. Claude Code and Codex read the files automatically when you open the folder. Other tools, including Claude Desktop, may need one line to start: “Read AGENTS.md, STATUS.md, and MEMORY.md in this folder, then brief me.”
Basic shows you how to do one matter properly. The Firm edition works across every matter at once and tells you each morning which ones are behind. Basic stays free and complete on its own.
